1Why big files don't fit in an email
An attachment travels inside the message itself, and mail servers refuse messages above a set size: usually 20 to 25 MB, ours included. A phone video, a batch of photos or a design file is often far bigger.
A transfer link has no such problem: the files are stored once, the email only carries the link, and a whole folder arrives the same way as a single file.
2Send a big file in three steps
- Add your filesOpen Exito Transfer or drop files and whole folders onto our homepage: up to 5 GB per transfer on the free plan, and up to 2,000 files.
- Choose who gets themType up to 20 email addresses and we email them the link, or copy the link and share it however you like.
- Pick how long the link works, then sendChoose how long the link stays live: up to 7 days for free. When it expires, the files are deleted.
Sending needs a free ExitoMail account, which keeps spam and malware out. You don't need a new inbox: sign up with the email address you already have. The people you send files to don't need an account at all.
3How big, how often
On the free plan: up to 5 GB per transfer, 50 GB in any 30 days, and links that last up to 7 days.
Need more? Paid plans start at $1.99 a month, with transfers up to 50 GB, links that last up to 30 days, passwords and download receipts. See all plans.
4Tips for faster, safer transfers
- Send folders as they are. There's no need to zip them first: the folders arrive the way you sent them.
- Pick the shortest expiry that works for you. Files that don't need to stay online shouldn't.
- Files are checked for viruses, and the download page warns about anything risky. Files too large to scan are clearly labelled.
- For sensitive files, protect the link with a password on a paid plan, and get a receipt when it's downloaded.
